When all of the provinces of West Pakistan were merged into one unit, Nawab Nowroz Khan took up arms to resist this move and went into the mountains. Balochistan's Great Revolutionary Poet known as the "Malik-ul-Shuraa" Gul Khan Nasir saw a small ray of hope in Nawab Nowroz's rebellion for bettering the situation in Balochistan. In this poem Gul Khan Nasir compares this ray of hope to a fluttering bougie or a candle. This is one of Gul Khan Nasir's most famous poems and has been translated into Urdu by Faiz Ahmed Faiz and Russian by Rasoul Hamzatov.
