Abstract
داستان

This research is about the history and background of “Dastaan” (Fable or Romance). Contents of papers are divided in 5 major parts.
Part one is introductory, which is based on introduction of the topic. Part two present a short introduction of world classic folk lore and Urdu Dastaan. It’s reflect that how the Fable or Tell start or ‘invent’, then a short history of Dastaan in sub-continent, and in last discussed some important Urdu Dastaans. Part third is about Dastaans and Dastaan Goi (Story and the Storyteller).In this part there is a detail discussion on ingredients of Dastaans, Dastaan and Social Truth, Dastaans and Culture, and then a view on Dastaan Goi (Story Telling). Part four is about Dastaans and Balochistan. In this section researcher represent a brief summary of Dastaan in Balochistan’s local languages i.e Balochi, Birhavi and Pashto. Part fifth is about Result of Research. In this last portion of paper the researcher divided its results in three small parts, like; What is The Importance of Dastaans Today, The Future of Dastaans, and Last words. In last words this research prove and claim that Dastaans (Fiction) will live till with the last man
on earth.
