As a new student of Balochi, never having studied it before, nor having access to study it in a formal environment such as a College or Universiity, is there another Language that I should study in addition to Balochi, that is closely related? I'm sure the people of this forum do not want to have to constantly teach me the proper syntax and sematics (Grammar) of their language all the time. If there is a language that has many similar grammatic rules, then it would be best for me to study both simultaneously. I thank you all for any insight you can provide me.

shar baate,

Myke
My name is Myke. I'm a San Diego State University student. My Major is Linguistics, but my Minor is Arabic and Islamic Studies. I currently study Modern Standard Arabic, but also want to learn Balochi. It is not formal instructed in America. So the internet is my best study resource. Maybe in the future I will have the opportunity to study at the University of Balochistan?

Hi Myke:

I am very sorry for this late response.

Please don’t think that we don’t want to teach you our language. We always welcome people who they are interested in Baluchi.

Actually we all Baloch Baask’s are by born Baloch and learnt our language from our home that’s why most of us are totally unaware about the grammar and syntax of any thing. :)

Western Baluchi and its vocabulary is 50/70 % similar to the FARSI (Persian)

While Eastern Baluchi is the 85% similar to the Brahvai so now you have two options to start your language study in parallel of Baluchi.

Regards

Rouzard
